What is Germicidal Ultraviolet?
Ultraviolet technology is a non-chemical approach to disinfection! UV-C light is germicidal ie: it deactivates the DNA of bacteria, viruses, mould, spores and other pathogens and thus destroys their ability to multiply and cause diseases.
In this method of disinfection, nothing further is required, which makes this process simple, inexpensive and requires very low maintenance.
By using a physical process – rather than chemical – to inactivate pathogens, the lamps are versatile and appropriate for a variety of applications:
- Food manufacturers benefit from the UV lamps by sterilising packaging and products.
- UV lamps are used to purify Air and Water, a critical need in areas such as Intensive care units, Food preparation facilities etc.
- Water treatment centres can use the lamps for purification instead of adding chemicals to the water supply such as Chlorine.
