Ozone Services Industries Pty Ltd (OSI) is a major provider of ozone generators and associated equipment applications in water, air and effluent treatment in Africa. The Company specialises in natural oxidation techniques to oxidise micro-organisms and various heavy metals such as iron and manganese in the water treatment market and noxious gases and odours such as cigarette smoke, carbon monoxide, nitrous oxide and sulphurs in air treatment. Principal technologies utilised are ozone generation and ultra violet together with the associated equipment enabling the solution provided to be efficient and stable.

The Company services a wide range of commercial, industrial, and domestic markets in water and air treatment and sewerage and effluent recycling. The company is based in Randburg, Johannesburg, South Africa and has the capability to design and manufacture, service, repair and maintain a large variety of ozone generating and ultraviolet equipment, including custom designed and OEM products, catering for most applications.

Ozone Services Industries Pty Ltd (OSI) commenced operations in 1997 with the franchise from Ozone Industries UK to sell ozone generators and associated equipment in to the air and water purification market in Southern Africa. In 2000 considerable investment was applied to research and development of a locally manufactured range of ozone generators, UV systems and associated equipment. Various prototypes were imported from around the world to assess their capabilities.  A full range of Air and Water units were then decided upon and sales began using the registered Airzone and Aquazonebrand names throughout Southern Africa.

In 2000 OSI secured the Distributor status for Ozonia Ltd (Switzerland). Ozonia

A condition for this franchise was that OSI technicians required regular training at the Ozonia factory in Zurich and where OSI had to possess resources such as tooling and test equipment to install service and maintain sophisticated plants supplied by Ozonia.
This enabled the Company to enter in to the large Industrial and Municipal market, principally in Water Purification, and servicing of old and new large Ozonia OZAT ozone generators and plants began.

Large plants worked include a large sewerage recycle plant in Windhoek and Pulp Mill in Mpumulanga.

Various other projects have been commissioned by OSI including, among others Municipal and Mining water treatment works, bottling plants, pharmaceutical factories and aquariums.

OSI is registered with GSSC (Gauteng Shared Services) as a vendor and supplies all of the Forensic Pathology Mortuaries and most of the Government Hospitals with mortuary deodorising and sanitising equipment using ozone and ultra violet technologies.
A Municipal Swimming pool in Dubai was commissioned by OSI in 2005.
Most if not all Casinos in South Africa have used Airzone systems in their smoking areas since 2003.
2 of the largest Spa/Jacuzzi suppliers use Aquazone systems as the preferred disinfection systems preferring these to chlorine treatment methods.

In 2006 OSI began manufacturing the well known Saunozone Health Capsule for Wellness and Health practitioners’ use.

These compliment the Airzone and Aquazone domestic range of water and air purifiers.

OSI also has a working arrangement with in Phoenix Arizona. OWS are the largest “Ozone” Company in USA and are contracted by the major ozone suppliers to build complete plants throughout the world. OSI relies on OWS for technical advise and for specific skid units and participates with OWS in servicing and maintaining large projects in Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria and Dubai in the future.

In 2009, the products were introduced to the product mix enabling the Company to also service the sewage/sewerage/effluent reclamation and recycling industry. This product/technology has been very well accepted in South Africa, Kenya, Mozambique, Zambia and Botswana and has opened doors for the Company where we are able to offer full water treatment plants for the potable water and final sewage recycling for irrigation or in to the local rivers or dams without contaminating the earth or atmosphere.

OSI has accumulated an enviable data base of satisfied customers in and out of South Africa, where the Airzone, Aquazone, Biozone, Saunozone and Ozonia products are well known for their efficacy and reliability. The company has successfully installed and commissioned over 40 large scale ozone and UV generators in a variety of industries and sold over 6000 small to medium air and water ozone generating products to all markets over the last three years. The range of applications starts with in large Industrial Water Purification and Effluent Treatment projects, to Odour and Hygiene control in the Hospitality and Health Industries, to Bottle sterilising in Bottling plants, to Office and high rise building air purification (combating Sick Building Syndrome), to Jacuzzi/Spa disinfection, to Ozone Therapy in the Wellness and Health sector, to Domestic water and air purifiers and many other applications.

The Natural Oxidation methods that OSI promotes are becoming increasingly in demand where alternatives to chlorine and chemical treatments are sought after and where preservation of the environment is important. The combination of these technologies and their optimal use is inherently OSI’s Intellectual Property and where the competitive advantage lies in the design and manufacture of ozone and ultra violet (UV) generating products and their optimal application in a wide range of environments. The development of this expertise to the point where it is commercially viable and cost effective in relation to other technologies has been the result of work done by OSI in the last 12 years.
